With a multidisciplinary background in music, technology, and cognitive science, Garrett is passionate about how concepts and technologies from other fields can be re-purposed for the use of treatments for communication disorders.

Dr. McAlpin serves on the California Speech-Language Hearing Association’s Diversity and inclusion committee and was recently elected Chair-Elect of the CSHA Board of Directors.

David specializes in NLP techniques and their application to Healthcare; his passion is using data analytics to create positive social impacts. Currently, He is focused on how NLP techniques can assist in language development diagnostics and interventions.
